Every high performer understands the value of owning their day instead of letting it control them. One of the most effective ways to do this is by establishing a morning routine—a dedicated 30-60 minutes to center yourself mentally and physically, setting the stage for a productive and fulfilling day.
Your morning routine is personal and should be tailored to what resonates with you. Over the years, mine has evolved, and I’ve found that the key is consistency rather than perfection.
If you’re not already practicing a morning routine, I encourage you to start, even if it’s just a few minutes each morning. You’ll quickly notice a boost in joy, peace, and focus throughout your day.
Before I Dive into Work or Check My Phone…
My morning begins with a simple glass of water, followed by retreating to my peaceful space—in my case, the guest room—where I can clear my mind and prepare for the day ahead.
For the next 30-45 minutes, I engage in the following activities:
- A 15-minute yoga session to wake up my body
- Breathing exercises to center my thoughts
- 5-10 minutes of silent reflection or meditation
- Reading a few pages of an inspiring book
- Writing down what I’m grateful for
After that, I transition into my day, which usually includes breakfast with my family before diving into work.
Remember, your routine doesn’t have to mirror mine. It’s all about starting your day by prioritizing yourself. When you do, you’ll find you have more energy and focus to give to your family, clients, and business.
If you have a morning routine that works for you, I’d love to hear about it in the comments. I’m always eager to learn and try new approaches.
