I just turned 49.
And honestly? I feel more myself than I ever have.
Not more perfect. Not more accomplished.
Just more rooted.
More clear. More at peace with where I’ve been… and where I’m headed.

If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know I’ve lived many lives in one: coach, entrepreneur, author, athlete.
What you may not know is the journey behind those titles:
- I grew up many years on public assistance and public housing.
- I was the first in my family to graduate high school—then college.
- I became a fitness coach in my 20s, a pro athlete in my 40s, and a bestselling author last year.
- I’ve built and sold businesses.
- Led high-ticket sales teams to million-dollar months.
- Trained coaches, mentored mentors, and spoken on stages.
All while raising kids as a mom, stepmom, adopted mom, and dog mom. 🐾
I’ve lived in three countries, six states, and traveled across dozens more. But the biggest distance I’ve ever covered?
The space between who I was… and who I’ve become.

Today, at 49, I don’t feel the pressure to prove anything. But I do feel called to share what I know in my bones to be true:
- Your beginnings don’t define your potential.
Your circumstances may shape you, but they don’t have to limit you. One of my favorite sayings will always be, “It ain’t where you’re from it’s where you’re at” - Fitness is spiritual.
When I train, I’m not just building muscle—I’m building presence. It’s where I learned discipline, resilience, and how to lead myself. - Motherhood expands your soul.
There’s no “one right way” to be a mother. Love will find its way through every form. - High performance is not hustle.
I teach this everywhere I go—and I live it. Real power comes from clarity, alignment, and rooted action. - Your North Star will never compete for your attention.
It won’t scream. It won’t pressure. It will wait patiently until you get quiet enough to listen.
My word for the year is ROOTED.
Rooted doesn’t mean stuck. It means deeply connected—to your truth, to your people, to your vision.
And that’s what this moment feels like.
- I’ve made peace with the messiness of my past.
I’ve let go of timelines and milestones.
I’ve chosen to live from alignment—not urgency.
Here’s what else I’ve learned:
- Rest is productive.
- Silence is sacred.
- God’s timing is better than your to-do list.
- A rooted woman doesn’t need approval to move.
- Some of my favorite evenings are spent with me and my Popcorn, and I am okay with that! 🍿
There were years I measured myself by numbers: income, macros, sales, reps, reach.
Now? I measure by Peace. Energy. Integrity. Joy.
I still have big goals, but I’ve stopped trying to out-hustle my life. I’d rather live it—with presence and purpose.
If you’re here with me in your 40s or 50s—or any season that’s asking you to grow roots instead of wings—I see you. This isn’t a slow-down. It’s a settle-in.
And the view here? Honestly… it’s stunning.
Here’s to owning your years. To leading with heart. To releasing what’s not aligned and building what is.
And to remembering:
✨ It’s never too late to become the woman you were always meant to be.
With strength and softness,
Jessica
