Let’s get real. I don’t believe in “balance.”
Not in the way it’s often sold to us: that your work, your family, your goals, your health, your partner, your spirituality, your social life, your dog, your sleep, your screen time, your green juice, and your meditation practice should all have equal energy every single day.
That’s not balance. That’s burnout in prettier packaging.

When I was in my late 20s and building my first business while raising a toddler and navigating new marriage and blended family dynamics, the last thing I needed was a lesson on “how to juggle everything.” What I needed was a North Star.
A clear sense of priorities, with the courage to say this matters now, and that can wait.
Because high achievers don’t need balance.
We need alignment.
And alignment doesn’t mean everything is equal—it means everything is intentional.
These days, I still live this truth. When I’m in prep mode for competition season, my training and nutrition are higher on the priority list. When I’m in a launch phase, my time and focus lean into serving my clients and community. And when I’m off-grid with my husband and kids? That’s exactly where I’m meant to be.
Balance sounds nice. But alignment? Alignment builds empires—and peace.
Here’s how to find yours:
- Ask yourself: What actually matters to me right now?
- What gets to have more energy this season—and what doesn’t?
- What am I ready to stop apologizing for prioritizing?
That’s how you reclaim your power. Not by balancing everything. But by choosing what matters most.
