If you are grounded in who you are and you have a big vision for the thing that you are pursuing, and you know why it’s driving you… then, and only then, are you able to step into any arena of your life and pursue those dreams and goals with authenticity.
Whether it be in business, in fitness, in spirituality, in your personal relationships, or any passion you wish to pursue… authenticity is when you are doing it for yourself (even if you’re also doing it for the benefit of others), based on your personal values and vision.
Unfortunately, most people are more worried about what others think of them, then they are about actually living an authentic life, and so they miss out on living the life they really wanted to live!
“What are people gonna think about me?”
“Are they gonna judge what I’m saying?”
When you’re stuck in the mindset of pleasing others, or trying to look good, that means you haven’t gotten truly connected to why you’re doing it. Because if you’re worried about how people perceive you, then you’re not doing it for you.
To live an authentic life means you are not a puppet on a string, trying to swing in the direction of where people, culture, politics, or even religion wants you to be at any given time.
This was part of the conversation I had with Seth Lusk on his podcast, Authentic Life Connection. We talked about how you can stay authentic to yourself while navigating a world full of options, opinions, and judgments! We also discussed the importance of being present and loving ourselves through the ENTIRE journey of life, not just once we reach a destination and more!
